I got news today that I am having oral surgery on monday (12th).

I have never had surgery before so I am a bit anxious about it. I know I will be in good hands and its going to be a good thing for my teeth, but I am still anxious.

Its gonna be - two extractions and root work to kill some nerves off. Then cosmetic work to finish.

Its got to be done, but its is scaring me. I never have had surgery of any kind (and I am lucky for that), but it is weird to get that kinda news that I am going to have it.

Wish me luck...

(it'll be good to have this done b4 my travels anyhow).

Good Luck. I've had surgeries and quite a few dental procedures and they never turned out as bad as I imagined.

(I like Neutral Milk Hotel too)
Thanks for this!

I had to have oral surgery once to remove my wisdom teeth which were impacted. It was ok. It was done under a general anesthetic, so I was kind of woozy and groggy for the rest of the day - definitely have someone with you to take you home afterwards. But I didn't have a lot of pain afterwards.

Good luck.

I think you will do fine. Make sure you ask if you should go on antibiotics to prevent infection. If they say no than ask what to look for that may indicate infection and a need for antibiotics following surgery. Not to make you nervous, I have had things done myself and if my memory serves me correct I did have to take antibiotics as well.

Good luck, let us know how you make out. You will probably be sore to talk but luckily you should have no problem typing. LOL.

Thank you for your replies, but I still am s**ting bricks..lol.

I have dental phobia, its why I have managed to go 41 yrs with out tooth ache before. 41 years is good (I am 41 now), but i guess this work is needed and will be good in the long run....but....I Am Scared.

I will be in good hands I know, the dentist is the only one i will see, i only really trust her to a good job.

I have had though already a couple of nightmares this week about the procedure, teeth rotting out n stuff like that. Weird dreams of teeth and ageing and falling apart.

I Will Get Through This.

I have to
