The day before my speech, which was Monday, I was in art class and the teacher asked about Guernica. I knew about Guernica thanks to the history channel. By the way for people who don't know about Guernica it is a city that was used as a experiment for a test bomb. The experiment was to see how much destruction it can cause. Many people died, it was a massacre.
Anyway, I decided to raise my hand for the first time, and say what I knew about Guernica. I began to speak, and I don't remember the rest I said. Everything turned black, and I lost my breath. It was real scary, and I hope nobody noticed. That was the day before my speech in speech class. I knew if I almost passed out from speaking in art class, then I was in trouble. My speech class is at night, and the entire day I was a complete mess. Very anxious.........more like terrorized. I knew there was no way to avoid it. So I decided, hey if I pass out maybe the teacher will give me a good grade out of sympathy. I went to the class, watched a few peers give very cute and creative speeches, and decided to raise my hand and get it done and over with. I did it!! And I didn't pass out. I even got a high grade. I just wanted to post this story to say that whatever conscience says about you doesn't mean it true. Anybody can do anything if they just suck it up......and do it. Wow! That was very courageous of you. I'm glad it worked out.
I'm terrified of speeches too. It gives me hope to know that you were afraid but you were able to do it.

Congratulations, desirae! I was shy and timid in high school, but giving speeches helped me learn to not be so afraid of it...you know what they say, practice makes perfect! Ok, I didn't get to perfect, but I got to better.
