The last few days have been quite weird, I've seen people walk by that aren't there, animals walk between my legs that definitely weren't there and just strange shapes floating about etc.
I've never had this before and I can't think of any reason why I'm seeing them, it couldn't be stress because I'm at a low point stress wise because I'm on my college break and I'm taking it easy.
Are there other reasons you can get hallucinations? And I doubt it could be some form of schizophrenia because it would seem unlikely that would only appear now in my life, at least I think it's unlikely, I'm no expert.
Whatever it is I'm kind of worried.

Look up the age of onset for schizophrenia, which is mid twenties to late thirties. I know of someone online who had early onset schizophrenia in her early teens.

It definitely is something you should see your doctor about. Are you on any kind of medication? Your not smoking Mariuana are you, that can bring on schizophrenia in the brain, they have found that out now.

Don't panick, see a doctor and ask him what it might mean.

Let us know how you make out.

Yes, illegal drugs sound like the most common cause of what you describe:

Oh, I am not implying drug use. I am just thinking about possible things that I know that could present hallucinations. I just didn't want you to jump to a conclusion of a diagnosis that may have nothing to do with what your experiencing. I know that marijuana is legal to use in holland, not sure about other countries. That was only one thought that crossed my mind.

The only time I hallucinated was after a long life saving surgery. When I was waking up and in a hospital room, the room was all in blue and white and I saw people standing all around me that I didn't know, I thought they were spirits and it frightened me. It was later suggested that I was hallucinating due to the medications I was given and the hours under anethesia.

So, that is why I questioned if you are using any drugs via percriptions or otherwise.

I do feel that you should definitely bring this to the attention of a doctor. I don't think that it is ever wise to self diagnose, as it can truely lead you down the wrong road and cause you to be overly concerned of something that is not the reality of your condition.

I would suggest you see you see a Family Doctor as well as a psych. It must be scary what your going through . Remember your not alone.
