Hi folks,

I'd like to ask any of you who have some spare time sometime in the next few days or week or two to check out a website for me and tell me what you think. You may have already heard of it, it's called Wondir and is available at:

http://www.wondir.com/

I won't say more than that, but do take some time with it if you find it interesting, and then vote below.

Thanks!
DocJohn

DocJohn I hadn't heard of it before. I found it interesting. The average difference between mild and wild is 80%.

It seems, to me, to need more monitoring (moving and deleting.)

I would have to think more before using it, being required to receive answers via email isn't a good fit for me. I might enjoy it if I could ask a question and only read answers from professionals and organizations, filtering out the chatter.

I'll bookmark it and review it more later.

I'm a little embarrassed because I hadn't realized that my question would be posted for others to see! And I asked a question about myself to see what kind of stuff it would pull up! Your opinion wanted on a website

But other than that, I can think of several reasons I would use this for work. A lot of what I do professionally involves technical troubleshooting, and having the ability to both check other asked questions/answers and have web research done at the same time seems very handy indeed.

Thanks folks, your feedback and concerns were exactly what I was looking for...

My own sense is that this is a very different and unusual way of interacting with others online. It seems to be entirely based upon a "Q&A" style. How helpful do you personally find this sort of style?

LMo, I'm not surprised, as it's an easy thing to miss that everything you type in over there is public. They should do a pop-up warning or something before you submit just to be sure. I'm sure you're not the first person who thought that.

Any additional comments and feedback are appreciated. How could a service like this be better improved, in addition to what's already been suggested?

Thanks!
DocJohn

I think I would use it if the questions were put into catagories that were easily viewed from the main page. Also, I would like to see the responses be public as well...listed right under the question, as opposed to email. Quite frankly, I lost complete interest at that point.

You have to search too much to find a question. For instance, I went into poetry and had to click several calendar days, and found nothing there...blank page. It would be great to show like 20 of the most recent (with any answers), then a viewer can break it down if they wanted to, I think.

Certainly it leaves me wanting more, so to speak. Your opinion wanted on a website

You can stay anonymous on this site just as you can stay anonymous here. You can ask or answer questions without anyone knowing who you are. For me this is a big plus.

Also I like to learn, do research and this site is on various subject, great opportunity to learn, open more your horizons. Take what you want and leave the rest. You don't have to believe everything that is said but one word sometime, can put you on a right track to guide your research or your answer.

I like it!

First reaction: not that helpful, but only because I'm not accustomed to it yet.

Second thought: probably could be very useful. I'm going to go back in a day or two and spend more time reading the other posts.

I didn't care for it. I didn't really get it. If I want a question answered, there are so many more comprehensive websites with actual experts. This seemed like a bunch of people sitting around answering the first thing that came to mind. It wasn't easy to navigate....I don't know. I didn't like it. Maybe if it were more developed I could see myself using it, but it seems just plain wierd.

A subtitle, short definition of "wondir" is needed below the logo.

WHO? WHAT? WHEN? WHY? WHERE? HOW?

At first I was confused. I'm at this page and it asks to type a question. Why would I want to ask a question? When I typed a question, links appeared but they didn't answer my question. So, I figured the purpose of the website was to use it as a search engine for weblinks. This page needs to explain what the benefits are to participating and asking questions on wondir.

Next I reviewed the Question Board. I wondered how long would it take for me to receive my answer to my question. I assumed there was someone assigned to answering questions. This page needs to explain how questions are answered.

I get irritated by sites with a lot of java, which I guess is inevitable for that sort of thing, although I would have prefered a quick start page that would allow you to opt out if you wanted to avoid java. (That's a general pet peeve of mine,t hough, because this machine gets so bogged down so quickly from java...)

Otherwise, I think it's a pretty cool idea, although I agreet that better categorization would help -- and some sort of coherency checker? At least someone checking to weed out the real trash.

I prefer the way Psych central has done things. I am only really interested in mental health and psychology. I have been to a lot of psychology websites and PC is the best so far. It has information on psychology and these forums which is what I was looking for.

The wondir website does not really appeal to me at all. I would rather use a website that is tailored for "just" psychology issues.
