So I was reading about OCD, and most of the symptoms, I don't have, but I have always been weird about things since I was a little kid (I'm 13 now). These are some of the things I do:
-I usually only step on the cracks in the sidewalk. -I don't do this as much anymore, but when I was little I used to "challenge" myself to do things, like I would have to walk around the kitchen twice before the microwave was done cooking, and sometimes after I open the refrigerator door I have to put everything back before it closes. -A lot of times I think about which fingers on my hand would add up to the same size as the rest of the fingers on the same hand, and stuff like that. -I am always moving random muscles to a beat, and I have to tense the muscles on one side the same amount as the ones on the other. I do this weird symmetry thing with other stuff too. I used to do it even more as a little kid, and I cant remember the different things I do. also I can pop a muscle in my ankle and I can't stop. I do it all the time, usually at a specific beat. -I am almost always tapping something. -Idk if this is related, but a lot of times I breathe in time to a beat or I hold my breathe for a while then let it out, but I don't really think about it that much, it's mostly subconscious. -Idk if its something wrong, but I've always been messy an lately when my room is messy it really starts to bother me, and I feel a strong urge to clean it up, or at least line everything up. This might sound stupid, especially to those of you who have OCD. I don't know. But are these symptoms of OCD? Are they normal behaviors and I'm just being silly? Should I talk to a doctor? Please help.

i have alot of similar things that i do...like adding things up/counting or drinking gulps or chewing a certain ammt of times on each side of my mouth or tapping something 2 times with my left foot so i have to tap it 2 times with my right foot so they equal each other...stuff like that. i think it's a combination of ocd symptoms and anxiety (at least for me) like if i make up rules and do things in a certain order/way it makes me feel better/lessen anxiety. usually i do it and dont fully realize that i'm doing it until after i've been doing it for 10 minutes or something. sometimes i'm aware of what i'm doing but do it anyway because it makes me feel in control and helps my anxiety lessen. i'd say it's pretty common. alot of people tap their pencil or tap their fingers in time when theyre anxious. i'd say unless you feel like it is hindering your daily life somehow, you dont need to see a dr. if it gets worse/more frequent/bothers you more, i would bring it up to your GP. ♥

It could be OCD - if it interferes with your life - then see a doctor, if it doesn't then it's probably ok to leave it.
Mine started really slow then got worse - so make sure you look out for something like that happening.

I have some similar things, and this could be OCD. I have so many repetitive compulsions that I don't always know I am doing them (because i do them so often), but i have the symmetry thing too. When you can't do the compulsions do you get anxiety? If so then that could be a sign of OCD. Also, symptoms of OCD usually include intrusive thoughts (that you don't want and cause you distress). If you are concerned then you should consult a doctor

i do somethings like that too.
-like i remark all the letters i write on my notebooks when i feel its hard to read. -i make beats with my hands and feet. -i say hi like everytime i dont have anything to say. -i make lists when i have many things to do but never actually finish them. -i have to have the volume always in 5 10 15 25 any number from 5 to 5. -i first wash my hair then my body in the shower always. thats all i remember, i might do some other things too but i cant remember. i didnt know this could be a problem.

I forgot to put something else, one of the most annoying things. I have REALLY neat handwriting, and recently it constantly bothers me that it isn't perfect. I have always been a bit of a perfectionist, but I thought I somewhat outgrew that and this is a bit drastic lately. I have started writing really tiny sometimes so that when I look at the page from far away it looks really neat. Sometimes if I mess up I even tear up the paper and write it neater. It's annoying to me. Does anybody else do this??
