According to my psychiatric records all my disagreements/conflicts with my psychiatrists/mental health workers are as a result of my being awkward and demanding. I am totally to blame, they are blameless.
Even a semi intelligent appraisal would acknowledge faults on both sides.
I don't rock the boat much nowadays . I got my fingers metaphorically burnt and hurt too many times for standing up for what i believed.
It resulted in a strong reluctance to mention things for fear of being dismissed, trivialised and accused of being awkward, demanding and troublesome.
I believe in psychiatry but a lot of psychiatric workers are arrogant pigs that shouldn't be in the profession.

Yes, I think it is difficult to learn how to disagree without being disagreeable and to work with other people to help ourselves but we are definitely not taught that very often at home, when we're growing up. And we need to learn that so we can separate the non-helpful people from the potentially helpful ones so we can get ourselves the best care possible!
