I really need to go to a hospital (mental hospital) that takes a person who has no income and no insurance like myself cause of my depression getting worse, I feel the life has been sucked out of me.
I would have checked myself into a local mental hospital but my only friend went to one and she said it was a grueling nightmere for her. She said that they put the homicide with the suicide patients together. She told me that the 24 hours that she was in that hospital that they were the worst in her entire life.
I need to find a hospital and I am willing to go anywhere in the country (I have a very little bit of savings to get a bus ticket to go) but I am trying to find one where as it is safer than the one my friend went to, and that they accept a person with no income and with no insurance.
Is there anyone that can give me some advice or perhaps a number to call to ask about this issue. I do want to get better, I just can't do it on my own anymore and I need the help.

1-800-273-TALK (8255)

I'd recommend calling the suicide hotline to get some emotional support, and better answers to your Q's. I don't know where you live ~ so it's a little tough for me to advise that you go to wherever.

I don't know national laws, but I'm pretty sure that all hospitals have to take a person who's suicidal. That doesn't mean that they have to keep you there though. They may be too full to keep you, and then send you to another hospital that has availability at that time. It's kind of tricky.

It may be determined that you would do best in a long-term residential halfway house, one that can hopefully help put you into a better state of mind. Or, maybe you just need a few days to a week of medication tweaks to get you feeling better. A lot of unknowns!

If you are seriously in need of assistance, please do call the number above. 24/7, they are always there waiting to help! I hope that you get the answers that you're searching for and the help that you need. Very best wishes to you!

Thank you ShezI never thought that I would get to this low point in my life besides another time in the 90's when I tried to take my life. I am about to that point again, but not as severe. I am under so much emotional distress right now, more than I have been in so long. I feel that I am crumbing apart, nothing seems to work. Oh my gosh you can't imagine how many times I wanted to call that number you gave me but I read that they have the right to send an ambulance to pick me up even if I am not suicidal. I don't want that drama cause I will go into a full panic attack, but, I know that I need someone to talk to at this point. What do I say so that they do not send an ambulance?
to you. Thank you again.
