... feel so weighed down with weariness and an almost 'dizzy' fogginess in my mind, that I go right back to sleep. Today I woke up at 17:00, despite having gone to bed sufficiently early the night before.
I'm not sure where to put this - so I thought I'd ask whether anyone has experiences with this sensation, and what, if applicable, their various 'diagnoses' are? (I have had the physical side checked up on many times, bloodworks etc). Thanks for reading. ![]()

Yes, I've had times where I just want to sleep. Forget eating, forget taking my medicines, forget showering, etc...
Those aren't "normal" times for me, nor are they the way in which depression usually hits me. Depression usually doesn't make me super sleepy to this extent. For me, these times hit me when I was put on too high a dose of my AED (depakote). When my dosage went down after a week, I slept less time but my sleep schedule was screwy. It took another few days for me to realize that my depakote gives me energy for several hours, therefore, I can't be taking the med just before bedtime! We changed the time to morning and then again in early evening ~ works much better now & my sleep schedule has returned to normal. ![]() I'd recommend seeing if you can take a lighter dosage or try taking it at a different time, to see if that helps you. Very best wishes sent your way!
