So many people have been just pouring out the support, it's unreal. I can't even begin to thank everyone enough, just know that each and every one of you who have said even the slightly words of encouragment are appreciated so, so much.

A lot of people have been asking how they can help me get a dog, that they want to do whatever they can. I've been telling everyone that I really don't need anything any more. That's not true. A dog is a long-term commitment, and if someone wants to donate $1 for a chew bone or $100 for a fence panel because they WANT to, not because they feel obligated because it's an emergency situation, I shouldn't discourage them from doing what they really would like to do.

I'm not expecting anything from anyone. This was an expense I was going to take on, on my own before this whole thing happened. But the more offers I get for help, the more I'm getting the feeling that people really want to help in order to somehow heal a little bit. I don't think I'm wording that right. Um, yeah, um, uh, how do I do this?

We'll be bringing home Cinder on Friday. I could get her right now, but it's too late to make it to the shelter, and I'd rather wait until Friday when we can take our time getting to know her on a weekend night.

I have a PayPal account if anyone would like to sponsor some of Cinder's care that way. PM me and I'll mail you the account name. If you'd like to do it anonymously through DocJohn or through a money order, I can give my mailing address to him to forward to you.

Like I said, I don't expect even 1 penny, but I just sense that some people NEED to do this for all kinds of different reasons.

Um, yeah, um, uh, how do I do this? ((((((((((((Psych Central)))))))))))) Um, yeah, um, uh, how do I do this?

Edited to say: Just go to my profile for the addy if you don't want to PM me in case you're too shy. Um, yeah, um, uh, how do I do this? It's the same as the e-mail address, not the Yahoo name.

Yay, you're getting a dog??? Awesome, wot flavour (breed). I wish i was in a position to sponsor Cinder but I am on benefits, the only thing I can do, is ask you to give Cinder a tummy rub from Aunty Tracy in England. Take care, huggles

We're not quite sure what she is. They have her listed as a Spaniel mix. She's all black with a very soft, wavy coat, but she has little highlights of golden peaking through on her muzzle and paws, so they think she's also Labrador Retriever. She's not very big, weighs about as much as a big bag of dog food, but she's got another 4-6 months of growing to go. She has the goofiest tail I've ever seen. The fur spirals around it, so it kind of looks like a sugar ice cream cone, wide at the butt end, pointy at the tip. Um, yeah, um, uh, how do I do this?

They said she never has any water in her dish because she's always splashing in it. LOL She's got webbed feet, so she's a swimmer. I found out which beach lets dogs go for a swim, so we'll be taking her to do some tennis ball retrieving in the lake this summer.
Um, yeah, um, uh, how do I do this?

I'll keep that in mind Mystry. Um, yeah, um, uh, how do I do this?

How about finding out the best way to photograph a solid black dog so you can actually see their eyes and some detail instead of just a big black blob?

Shirley, I just love her! I'm sure that you must too. I have a black lab, but he's not so hard to photograph. his hair isn't that long. I have more trouble taking pictures of my little black and white border collie/poodle/samoyed cross. She loves cameras and insists on being two inches from them at all times.

LOL, that's how my cat is. As soon as the camera comes out she's got her nose on the lens.

I said dog panel? Where?

I said fence panel. It was just an example. My darn lawn is such an odd shape with shrubs and trees on the boundary lines, it'd be a pain in the patootie to put one up.

She does have kind of a Rottie profile. They're kind of baffled on what her mix is. The card said Spaniel mix.

From what you've said, I take it you don't need people to donate money to you, but can you afford regular vet visits? Do you have a dog house/shelter for the dog? Because if you don't have a dog house or shelter, you can get in trouble. A humane officer would generally tell you to get one, or if you have one and it's not sufficient, tell you to get a new one or do something better, if you're otherwise caring properly for the dog. Just something you should be aware of.

I didn't care for her at first, her head looked too big for her ears. But then when we got in the visiting room she put her soft, gentle (wet) paw on my leg and kissed me on the cheek. It was love from then on.

Who wants to sponsor a kiddie pool so I can have the permanent scent of eau d' wet dog in my house? Um, yeah, um, uh, how do I do this?
