Hi All,

This was a good day.

I drove back to where I used to live and went shopping. It was a Happy Mother's Day to me day. I needed some summer clothes, and now I've got them. Also got my hair colored and cut, so I'm a new woman.

The weather was really pretty -- around 72 degrees.

Shopping makes me feel good. Yes, you can do harm by shopping out of your means, so I'm not saying you should "get a fix" if it does you harm in the end, but if you love to shop and can afford to do it, by all means, shop!

EJ, what color is your hair now? Jay Leno said Jessica Simpson dyed her blonde hair red. Know why? Because red is easier to spell. :P (Hey, it was Jay's joke, I just stole it!)

Hi Maven -

Hopefully I didn't break the budget too badly. It's just so far to get there, and the price of gas the way it is, I just stocked up on some summer clothes. Because I'm teaching online I don't have to dress as formally, so it was fund to pick out some bright shirts and tee-shirts.

Have a nice weekend.

I need to get some new clothes, too. I especially need to get some sandals for summer. But I need new clothes in general, because I don't buy them often. Actually, my mom usually buys me my clothes. I need to lose weight, so I can buy clothes I really like (the best clothes are made for normal-weighted people, and look best IMO on normal-weighted people). And to stop having to shop at Wal-mart. My clothes are stretched out and worn.

Yeah, the gas prices will definitely get you. Ugh! I saw this woman on TV who has the right idea--walk/jog to work, use the opportunity to get and keep in shape--but I'm so out-of-shape, and I don't work, so it's a lot harder for me to plan to walk all over. Plus some areas I'd have to go through to get to where I want to go aren't the best to walk through.

Whenever my husband slips something extra my way (we have our own business), I save it. It was so nice to go shopping after a few months with my savings.

And I agree - it is wonderful therapy.

Oh god, I hate shopping! Yeah, a woman who hates to shop...that's me!

My issue is with not being able to decide on just one thing (or if money permits, a few things) or what I like is never in my size! Sucks being a plus size!

Hi EJ,

Oh neat! So glad you got to go out, have a "beauty day" and get some fun new clothes! That sounds really wonderful. Good for you!

Lex, I do understand what you mean. I don't hate shopping, but I do get upset and frustrated when I can't decide between two or more things, and I can't get both or all.

Plus, as you said, being "not small" makes clothes shopping a hassle. I really have to lose this weight. That was one of the best things about being thin. I could buy anything I wanted.
