has anyone noticed that rarely is anyone in chat anymore? have we lost our closeness? I think it is sad that the people feel like it isn't safe to be there. chatroom is open all the time, not just on Doc nights. *sigh*

It's not that I don't care, but I have a lot of things to do, and if I get into regular chats, I won't get anything done.

So do I. And sometimes I need to. But I can get into them if I'm having fun, and ignore other things I should be doing.

i meant to post this too..i miss the chats and have some things to vent. im not comfortable posting with the boards always, but i like chat.

I think I may be the backwards one!
I hate chat because when I used to go in there it was basically people BSing...I know...people generally do that but I'd rather be supporting people and all that instead of doing the normal chat. Is that wrong???? I dunno, I just like helping people more than anything in the world. there are a few chatroom available here and one is for support. yes we do chitchat but when anyone needs support we are there for them in any room. but sometimes you just need to have some fun

I really can't give an opinion as I've only been in the chat room once or twice. However, I've been chatting on IRC for close to 20 years and that is where I go to meet up with old friends and have my fun chat. Now with working a bit again and limited time, I haven't even been going there for quite awhile.
Besides this board (which I love) I'm also a part of an online diary community and a "cat lover" site, so I just can't do everything.

yeah i've noticed that no ones in there very often either.. thats why im not in there as often. i dont go in there if no one is in there.

Bebop! I know what you mean. I check in every night and sometimes I'm the only one in 4 rooms. It's a lonely feeling. I go because I need to talk and when no one is there, I feel desolate.

I like chatting a lot more then I ever do posting. Chatting is just a lot more personal and I get to know people a lot better. PM me when you feel like chatting maybe we could set up a time to all just get together.

hold the BEBOP AND FRIENDS CHAT (a regularly scheduled time)
I'd love to chat but usually type one-handed (very slow) because of baby nursing or sleeping in my lap. I tend to think people are not as patient in chat as they are with message boards. Some people's computers/servers are slower, and there too, they aren't patient with others. I usually limit myself an hour in chat (or instant messengers) because I need to do other stuff (namely interact with my family) . . . it's too easy to dissociate online. |
