When do you know if someone you know may be thinking of taking her life?

I asking about serious thoughts of suicide, not suicidal ideation.

If they seem to have a real plan. Maybe giving away important things or settling up old debts. If they have children or pets, maybe making sure they wll be provided for. These are things that will be done with only certain individuals in that persons life. If that person is going to take care of these things it wll be done with as little fuss as possible, so there will be no questions asked.

Thank you, LostMom,

It has been nice to talk with you on occasion. Everything will be okay for you. I honestly believe that.

Take care of yourself and your family,

*The information on the following site is pretty accurate, im sure the list isn't exhaustive as everyone is different but this list focuses on the main ones: http://www.helpguide.org/mental/suicide_prevention.htm

*Edit - sorry the first sentence didn't make sense

Thank you bb,

I guess the warnings here would be pretty accurate. Its just sometimes hard to trust what your head is telling you.

Take care and be well,

"I hope the "her" aint you"-dubblemonkey

Hadn't realized my switch from title to post.
Observant little monkey, aren't you?

And you thought that you were the only one self-destructing here. I'll show you how to self-destruct. It's a lot easier than you make it, dubblemoney. I haven't been involuntarily locked-up five times for nothing!

when people start finalising stuff.. giving things away, asking others to look after things of theirs, and also if they become really distant from their friends and relatives- not talking to them and letting them in

Hey, SS,

Will you watch my cat for me?

-Fleeing Bellocq

P.S. When you say distancing themselves from friends and relatives, would that include going on a public rampage of terror, and possibly offending those in your life that you cared for?

Both times I attempted, I did none of the classic things. Was not planned, no notes, no giving away of anything, no asking anyone to take care of my kids(which it is common knowledge in family who would take care of my sons, well son now). I had the reason(known only to myself), opportunity, and means.

I'm worried, Fleeing - I'd love some communication that this isn't you, or that it is... either way, you know there's support here.

Love and hugs!
