I just want to tell society that I feel so immune and so above all your petty squabbles. As the Queens of the Stone Age would say, "I'm up here on another wave, covered in hell". I acknowledge that that lyric probably means something to do with illicit substances, but for me it's always meant that I'm already in my own personal hell, and thus I am above anything you can dish out. Do your worst.

No one is above or better than society. We're all part of it whether we like it or not. Sorry to hear you're not feeling so good.

I disagree, I find this society to be quite sick so I think it would be a good and healthy thing to rise above it and create something better. Many individuals stuck in this sick society are certainly 'above' and 'better' than it. Just seems these aren't the individuals in power.
Thanks for this!

It is impossible to be a good citizen and not participate in political discourse. Wether we like it or not, the actions of politician affects our lives, so it's in our best interest to be informed on the issues and partcipate in the political process; voting at the very least.

What I find distressing is the way society thinks you either need to agree with someone/something 100% or you are an enemy of whatever camp they belong to. As adults we should be able to hold competing and contradictory ideas on a multitude of topics AND we should be able to accept that others may not agree with us. The loss of that ability is what is disheartening; not politics.

Given current behaviors and social norms, there are times with I think all of America is suffering from some sort of mental health issue!
Thanks for this!

I'm not necessarily referring to that kind of politics, but I'm also not interested in being a good citizen other than obeying the laws and treating people as I would be treated, etc.

This may not be making a lot of sense, but it's just how I feel right now and how i have been feeling on and off since November.

We are imprinted from birth with negitivity. It is the Way of the Modern World. That is why political comercials are always negitive.

We are imprinted from birth to be negitive about oneself and others. Negitive news sells.

If your not negitive about your self you will be less likey to be negitive about others.

All those negitive imprints are not Real.

Maybe what illegal toilet wants to be above is the way humans become gathered together. Take 5 smart people put them in a room together and I swear their collective IQ lowers. Now add more
people so it's a whole corporation, the stupidity grows. That's what's wrong with politics.

I am saddened to hear that you are not interested in being a good citizen.

One of the things I don't like about Christianity is the whole "Golden Rule" thing were you can only do unto others as you would have others do unto you. If you are full of self lothing, then, by this model, you are free to harm yourself or others.

In Paganism we live by the rule "harm none." You cannot harm yourself, others, or the earth (that means physical and psychological harm included!). Perhaps for the next week you should try to live "harm none" and see if it makes a differance.

I must admit that there are times when I don't feel like being a very good citizen, but I try to remind myself that just because others are a$$es dosn't mean I need to stoop to there level.

We will always encounter diffucilt people and we must learn to deal with them because sometimes the difficult person we are forced to deal with is ourselves.
