I am posting this wonderful INFO after reading the POST by Sabrina on spy ware that knew where she was from.... every one should be protected from prying eyes while online.

I have used this FREE Cookie Wall for about ten years now.... and I do NOT get spy ware for they (the companies) cannot spy on you if they cannot place a COOKIE on your computer.... check it out.

The CookieWall allows you to quickly and easily decide which cookies can stay on your system, and which cookies should go - once you let CookieWall know which ones are unwelcome, it does the rest. CookieWall can be configured to delete cookies as soon as they arrive, to notify you of any new ones, or just que them up for you to check out at a later date.

They can't spy your actions online via cookies, but they can still get info on you. You buy stuff from companies--they record information. You sign up for newsletters--sites record information. You do a Google or other search, that's recorded. You buy stuff at the grocery store or the mall--recorded.

YES.......... it is by the COOKIES that they can connect to your IP address (and place spy botts on your comp) .... and follow you around, recording all that you do and all that you look at. And YES, they can get INFO on you at many other places in the world, but as for this post we were talking about online spying.... and not in life prying.

I use the Firefox browser because you can Clear Private Data so easily. I clear mine before I search Google and before I go to a questionable website. I save NO cookies. Delete delete delete

No, I mean they can find out your IP address, not connect to it. But I didn't mean to suggest that you shouldn't block cookies because they can get info on you other ways; absolutely you should, if you don't want that info available to others. I was just mentioning the other stuff as information on how companies and others can find out about you.
