Over the weekend I browsed the Powell's* bookstore job page. There is a job at the cookbook store for 16 hours a week.

Today I put in an application. What the heck. They say they only want someone for 16 hours a week at barely above minimum wage. I can't afford that now, but perhaps if I can get my foot in the door I can negotiate something better later.

This all happened about one hour ago.

The phone just rang. They want to interview me Thursday.

Wow. It is definately one of Portland, Oregon's "cool" places to work. The store is right on the main street of our bohemian community. I would love it. I may cast my fate to winds soon.

*www.powells.com They used to say they were the world's largest bookstore. They are VERY big, but I know there is at least one bigger in Xi'an China, and perhaps others, too.
