Since I've been on these boards. I plan to take algebra again in the fall at college, I'm only going to take the one course..because I need to pass algebra before I work on the psychology-related stuff. Plus, I'm going to see if I can do some volunteer work on my off-time(I'm out of school until September)with other mental health consumers, maybe teaching computer skills. This last semester has been a steep learning curve as far as dealing with teasing and snide comments about my illness and my size. I always thought college students were above all that, but I guess there are some that are still not all that mature(besides I'm a fortysomething in college and I wonder if that's part of it)...I miss everyone here. Hi everyone! It's been a long time....

I used a trigger sign because I posted about teasing as part of the thread and I'm worried that might upset some people.

(((((((((( Kim )))))))))))

It's good to hear from you. Thanks for checking in with us.

I hope you pass algebra. Just remember what you do on one side of the equal sign you have to do on the other and that you work from the inner most brackets outward. (I hope that made sense.)

No, some college students are not above snide remarks, but they are usually the ones with the Freshman Freakies. Ignore them. It's their first time away from home and they have partying on their minds.

I wish you every success in college. It's such a great adventure!

Hugs,

Jan

Hi there,
I think it is a good idea, I did that with some of my courses, started part time with just 2, then progressed to others as time allowed.
I feel confident all is goint to work out just fine. Hi everyone! It's been a long time....
Take care,
DE

Hey Kim - we've wondered where you went off to. Glad to see you back, and good luck on the algebra! Very sorry about the teasing -- that can't possibly be fun. But WE are happy to see you, definitely!
