I really didn't fall off the face of the earth...just moved to another part of the "face."

I moved about two weeks ago, and only 5 miles away but, sheesh, it felt like moving across the world. I packed and packed and packed then moved on the most hot and humid day of the year, and am now in the process of unpacking, unpacking, unpacking. I'm Back

I'm sitting in a sea of boxes because I haven't had the physical or mental strength to begin unpacking all this stuff, but I am soooo happy I moved.

Now the job hunting begins!!! I'm Back

I look forward to catching up with you all and pray things have been going well. Or as well as they can. I'm Back

Azalysa,

Sounds like you have gone through a tough time....moving is one of the most stressful things I have ever experienced. I sound similar to you.....I have a 2500sq ft home of my own to pack up on top of packing up my Mothers home (she died 1 1/2 years ago & I am the only family). I can understand your sitting in a sea of boxes....on both the packing & unpacking side of the move. I hope your strength will come back soon,...it's hard to find any energy when the heat is really bad. My move is going to be across the US (from California to Kentucky)......so I can relate to your feelings very well.

Hope it all comes together soon for you.....the unpacking & job hunt. Good luck,
Debbie

Oh, AZ!!! I can identify so much with what you're going thru. I have sold my house and must move in two weeks, so now packing, packing, packing. I am getting rid of most of my possessions...hired auctioneers to sell most furniture, sending much of the art stuff to my school, and keeping only essentials. I hope to look on this as a positive thing...a new start, which I hope for you also! But, yes, the packing and UNpacking is overwhelming!!!!

Wow!! Seeing all your "welcome backs" warmed my heart...like "Cheers" where everyone knows your name!

Thank you all for the unpacking encouragement as well.

{{{{{{Group Hug}}}}}

Oh, Pat - I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers as you begin the packing/moving process. You've got a lot on your shoulders and it has to be hard to go through your mother's possessions as well. Moving cross-country will be a change, but as far as the "stuff" part of it, honestly I've done both and it's almost easier to do the long distance because everything has to be packed and ready on a certain day. I dawdled around, shlepped things over here and there, then didn't have everything ready when the movers arrived and had to schlep more stuff. Arrrggghhh!!!

Most of my relatives are in KY! If you want to say - or PM me - what part are you moving to?

Pat - Ok, I really have to catch up here...when did you move? Hey, want to have an unpacking party? I'm Back I'm Back I'm Back

Seeker - Sending warm thoughts to you as well as you pack and move. Two weeks...the countdown begins. I'm Back

I have a couple of antique pieces that I want to sell, one that I did purchase at an auction. If you don't mind my asking, what kind of cost or percentage to auctioneers charge...and do they come pick up the furniture?

It's great to be back!
