This is worrisome, but I'm glad it is being recognized that current treatments don't always work as well for us (the patients) as the non-patient public thinks they do. I think both brain scientists and psychologists need to heavily focus on holistic causes and treatments. This is a serious crisis, and it is only going to get worse with more and more diagnosises. What do others think?

I know the article sounds rather scary, but it does suggest hope in the possibilities of new research into why mental illness occurs and how it could be treated better, possibly without drugs. We need to figure out the cause of mental illnesses. Frankly, researchers aren't even sure how drugs work--just make some vague reference to how they think they affect neurotransmitters. And many of the drugs have bad side effects.
We do need a major breakthrough. ![]() |

All I know on this subject is, there are a wide range of drugs.. Not all of them work the same as they do for others.. If the drug makes you dizzy, or makes you feel strange, that is probably not the drug for you.. And you should tell your doctor.. Fortunately zyprexa has worked well for me all these years.. And these drugs are so expensive.. Dang
