I'm the adult child of a hoarder, 64 years old. My mother had [untreated] depression, and her mother was bi-polar. I finally got therapy and anti-depressants when I was 43.
I have OCPD and asperger's, and was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2000. I still work on anger issues, and I haven't self-injured in several years. I take seven prescriptions each morning, plus another dozen or so supplements. I'm too sensitive, I empathize too much, my family of origin imploded several years ago, and I have literally no close friends. Because of the MS, I quit working years ago, and so I live on disability benefits. Today I've had enough analysis and diagnoses to be fairly comfortable with myself, even though I'm probably quite messed up. And I'm glad to have found this group. __________________ ...
