Hamster-bamster, I agree on the birthday reminders. So convenient! A friend of mine just had a birthday the other day, but I wasn't able to call her. I'm hoping to find time tonight or tomorrow.

AAAAA, I admit I sometimes post those "Share if you feel the same way" things, but I am barely on FB anymore. I also don't see the point of hitting "Share" and also hitting "Like." If I shared it, one can assume I either liked it or felt it important enough to share. And I don't know how other people's computers work, but when I click on "Like" or "Share," it takes several seconds to be accepted. That takes up time I don't need. I just want to post and go.

AAAAA,

I do not even try to stay abreast of FB in terms of their development of new. Functionalities..

I just tinker with Gmail. So as to auto archive unneeded announcements.

I don't like Facebook.
2 weeks ago I deactivated my account
for good.
Twitter, Myspace are all stupid.
Facebook shouldn't be a tool for pre screening
for whatever.
Facebook in my opinion is WAY OVERRATED.

I'm not into reading Al Jazeera in the first place; not high on my trusted international media outlets. But the article started out too useless for me too; it's an opinion piece that references an article in another newspaper written by someone unknown to me that is about a study. . .

I don't think Facebook itself is any one thing; it is what you make of it or let it make of you. I use it to keep in touch with some friends and relatives, period. I only log in maybe once a week, usually less often and don't read much of it/other people, just post my own news for other people or get in touch with cousins, etc. that it would be harder to call or write.

I have no trouble with security/personal information online; I'm not online, my information probably is. Anyone who knows my name can find me these days and I did not have trouble when that was only physically true, through paper databases like the Kris Kross directories every library has/had and local phone books, etc. and it's no different now that it is all online.
