((DE)) I hear you and agree I am so sick of this. I also worry on the ill and elderly. I donated a room A/C unit I had and do not use, to an older woman I know of who had no air. I have AC I would freak without it. I just hate this junk and hope everyone in here is OK.

Please don't forget your pets and local pet shelters! Make sure they have plenty of water and shade/shelter, aren't out in the sun for long, are in an air-conditioned area when possible, give money if your shelter needs it to help maintain air-conditioning for their animals, etc.

aww guys that sounds quite unbearable. i live in the UK so i dont know how bad that heat must be...although, we have been having temperatures of about 30-35 degrees centigrade (no idea what that is in farenhieght, i think its 90 ish) and for us Brits that is HOT lol, so i dread to think what its like for you guys. its abit stormy here at the moment, the last few days have been cloudy and muggy, so we've had a bit of a break from the heat. we are forecast a hotter August than it was in July, so we could be getting similar temperatures to you guys over there. i do love the sun and the heat but not when it gets unbearably hot where you cant do anything. i felt like that when it was 34 degrees centigrade here, so add another 10 degrees for what it is where you are and that must be awful. i feel for you guys.

i hope everyone is ok, im sure they are, probably just busy with their day-to-day lives i suppose. hope to hear from them all soon.

take care all of you, and eat plenty of ice-creams hehe, its what i do lol.

Sadly, the news said some idiot was dogsitting and left the poor dog (a 2-year-old pit bull) out in the heat for hours, and it died. It makes me so mad. Heatwaves and other members

My Dr told me yesterday that if I can't keep it at 75 - 76 degrees F on a constant basis, I am to leave the apt. She's telling all her patients who are older or who have breathing probs that. She says to hang out at the mall or someplace where it's really cool until the apt gets cooler.

Don't take any chances anyone!!!!

Hey everyone Please don't forget that some medications can be affected by the heat. I know that my Lexapro causes increased sweating and makes me feel even hotter then other ppl. My Elavil is affected as well. So check your medication bottles to make sure or look them up online.

Remember drink water even when your not thirsty. You have to stay ahead of dehydration.

I can't wait for winter!!!!!

Living in the Mojave Desert.....is living in H@)). Temp here this summer hasn't been below 100 for the last 2 months. We have central A/C & have 12 dogs which we have all inside during this weather.....my horses are the only ones that have to survive the outside heat.

To top that off, I have been really sick for the last 4 weeks & it won't go away!!!!!!!

The good point this summer is that I haven't been outside like last year...which has kept me out of the ER room for all the dehydration IV's I went through last year & haven't been hospitalized for my loss of potassium.....even though I would drink gallons of fluids.

What a trade off....being sick & inside or being outside & getting dehydrated.

Hope everyone else is better off than my summer.
Debbie
