Just some things I learned the hard way. Feel free to add yours.

There's so much talk about St John's Wort. Flipping you into mania, "you can't control how much active indegrients is in there". One thing I see hardly ever mentioned... PHOTOSENSITIVITY! If you take it and plan to take vacation somewhere sunny... stop it for a while. Especially when you have vampire complextion. Burning to crisp will do nothing to your mental health.

Speaking of St John's Wort... mixing it with caffeine and guarana may be too much of a good thing, even if you need a kick.

Valerian is a great thing, but cats love it. So is catnip (which is mild sedative and tastier and better smelling than valerian), but same... cat problem. You may find it cute your cats roll around and purr after eating your herbs... but they will try to get more. Cats and open cabinets. If you have lockable cabinet, your cat will keep eye on you as you approach it and thrust herself into your cabinet ninja style.

Don't ever tell anybody you are a rabit, even if you are five your old child with lots of imagination. If you have any symptoms that you suspect not being normal, but they don't bother you... don't bother the professionals with it. Don't google if it's normal. Chances are... it's not. Maybe you will even come across Pharma add telling you there's pill for that. In better scenario. Worse case is you will find a blog from award winning blogger who will tell you this exact symptom will ruin your life likely.

Friendships with crazy people can get exhausting as you feed of your vibes. Friendships with normal people are unsatisfying and boring and they don't get why you need to pull away at times. Loneliness and isolation is killing.

"Authority" is often wrong.

I'll try to get back to this when I finished rolling on the floor laughing
Ahem okay... if you suspect you may be a hypochondriac do not but a Physicians' Desk Reference. Best not to watch tv either because those Pharma ads will make you want to be sick just so you can have some of that medicine that will make your life heaven.

If you believe everyone around you then you'll be basing your mental health care on water cooler gossip.

If you believe all the professionals then you'll be basing your mental health care on people making money on extreme reactions to water cooler gossip.

If you get too into your head then you'll live your life in a fantasy rather than in the real world. Killer bunnies sure are interesting but it's a problem nobody will care about.

If you get too out of your head then you can lose your soul.

You're not the only one who suffers. Have empathy for caregivers. Not everyone who loses loved ones does so because of stigma and them not "getting it." Sometimes people just burn out. Don't make them choose between constantly dealing with your bunnies or not dealing with you at all.

Take care of yourself. You're the only one you've got. Strangely enough, this is the best way to keep supportive and loving people in your life. Need is deadly. Become strong.

Don't be a victim. Bunnies and people alike smell weakness and there are plenty who will take you up on the offer.
