an interesting survey results.

Seems that MH system often seems to doom people... or at least tell em they are doomed.
seems that people do have more power than they tend to believe in.
Seems that nobody has to be doomed...

It's sad if that is the case.

My experience is the opposite though. Might have to do with not enough doctors, not enough money and the government's interest in keeping the cases down.

When I have been my sickest I always had very harsh demands on me by health care. Like this and that improvement I MUST have made until next time or they will kick me out and offer no more help. They have constantly overestimated what I could do and really drove me into the ground.

I don't want to be an impossible case but I also don't want to be told I can miraculously get all better.

Even had a nurse tell me if I thought "today" I'm better, I will wake up healed tomorrow!

The results of this survey are interesting, but to interpret them in a vacuum wouldn't really be all that helpful for anyone.

The questions and answers in the survey can lend themselves to various interpretations because of the very nature of the subject and the necessary confounding factors. It's tells us a lot, but maybe not as much about what it intended.

There is really no definitive or concrete... anything about the survey. They would have done better to write a non fiction book of narratives. And that's not to say the information they may have gained through the process is useless, but sometimes presentation can be half of communication.

Well, it might be skewed.... but which research, when it comes to MH isn't?

I am kinda glad others feel the same as I do. And on the other hand it's sad to see people considering themselves doomed, just cause mainstream treatment failed 'em. So I would be happy if this is seen by more, rather then "you need to take your meds even if they suck. cause there's nothing you can do for yourself, you have no control over your behavior and life, if they fail you too bad... and btw you know there's one in five chance you will kill yourself?" that comes up when you google name of just about any quirk.

I've only met one single person that acts doomed in that sense, year after year. And I've met a lot of people.

Wow really interesting, and I concur with a lot of it.

In my experience last year, it was doom and gloom when they discussed prognosis. And it seemed like they set the bar very low.

I wonder why they do that. I wish they would treat everyone as the person they are. They need to be on the right level with everyone.
