How many people strictly use debit cards and plastic cards when they do shopping?

(Except for doing laundry and taking the bus, I don't use coins or dollar bills any more. I give my son a debit card as well.)

What do you do ?

Please check # 1 if you most of the time use cards , except for rare instances.

Please check # 2 if most of the time you use cash and coins.

Also could you please share your comments about the changes in last 10 years about how people use money to buy stuff.

Thank-you !! Just curious about money

I use cash except for my EBT card. I don't have a credit card, don't have debit card and am happy with that. Due to my past history with plastic its just best that I am not allowed to possess it.

I use cash and debit equally as much. So, that doesn't help. I love having the debit though!!! LOVE it!

Using my debit card for just about everything I purchase is an awesome way to keep track of what I am spending my money on. I'm terrible at keeping receipts and now I just look at my online banking daily and I can see where I've spent my money. I pretty much know what I buy, so remembering that stuff isn't so hard...lol.

I make myself use cash as much as possible. Overspending with plastic is way too easy. Something about feeling the dollar bills leaving your hands makes it so much more real and harder to part with then just sliding a plastic card through the machine. You have to stand there and count out the money and see all of those bills leaving your possession and into that cash register. It sobers up any shopping spree when I think about how many 20 dollar bills I'm going to have to fork over for what I have in my cart. I do those cart clean outs right there in the middle of the aisle. "Do I REALLY need this?" and I start putting everything back.
Maybe I'm just frugal.

I use my debit card which is just like using cash......the money comes out of my account immediately so it is my way of keeping track of my spending. My debit card can be used as a credit card, but use it only for amounts over $500. I write checks if I need to get some money into my account before the check can be cashed.

I had so much problems with my husband & credit cards......we no longer have a credit card & will never again have one.

I always use the debit. Much easier to track my money and spending. Anybody ever use Cash Back at a store. It's a pretty crazy feeling to leave a store after buying something with more cash then when you went in Just curious about money

Generally, credit everything over $20, money for <$20.

my bank doesn't have debit cards yet. i am determined to die having never owned a credit card. on rare occasions a friend will order for me with their card if a card is essential to the transaction.
