Here are Wendy's instructions. I have AOL so opening Internet Explorer is important for me.

You might just have to copy and paste. It added an extra bar on my browser that has the button for the smileys, as well as other goodies like search engines and games and stuff. I click on the smiley button and select a smiley (click on it). A message comes up saying something about that this page doesn't support smileys, but "click here" to get the code for the selected smiley. So I click where it says to, close the window, and can paste the code into my post by holding the control key and typing "v". I don't know if that will help you or not though.
