Ugh, I don't even know if I should be asking this, but I want to know.
Are there any chemical-burn survivors on here? I kind of hate to admit this, but if there are any of you out there, I too was a chemical burn victim starting at the age of four. |

I was burned by oil on a stove when I was in 2nd grade. I wrote about it somewhere on here in the last 2 years. I read your story yesterday, that was terrible. Mine was just on my hand. My mother was involved in a negative way. I didn't have long lasting consequences like you did, I just remember staring at my forearm in school for years looking at the discolored skin. I can still see it but other people say they can't, which makes me a little crazy. Plain pink on one hand, brown speckled on the other, how can you not see that?? Your story reminded me of when I started ninth grade, which was a farther walk for me. It made my hip really hurt. I have one hip obviously higher than the other. I told my parents that I wanted to go to the doctor. My older brother convinced them not to take me - he didn't want me to have to wear a back brace, he said the other kids would laugh at me. So to save him from imagined embarrassment, I've had pain on and off for many years.
