our computer is used by the whole family like most computers, so this morning when ours wouldnt boot up we knew that we would have to format the computer and start again, its taken three and half hours and all we got is our basic software and a few internet sights saved, we have managed to put back the toolbars we use ,
but we have lost everything else that was installed on the computer , photos and things , we said we should back it all up but we didnt we are now learning from our mistakes

As long as we learn from our mistakes we are growing..... I back up my computer often now, but not until we went thru a few events like the you are speaking about.

katheryn,

I know what you mean--my old computer (the one before this one) had to be reformatted twice until I was able to buy a new one.

Lost a ton of stuff on mine myself, so I empathize with you. Still dont back up 99% of my stuff, anyhow--wish I did, I just never do do it.

My computer also has it's hiccups and the things that I would miss the most is the photo's... you can never get them back! We use to play this game where everybody have to choose one thing they would save when their house burns down, my mom always said she would grab the photo albums... everything else can be replaced!

now that we have digtal cameras and mobile phones that we can download straight on the computer we dont have the orignals, but as some of them were posted on sites that we all use i can get everyone to have a look for them and copy them back on to the computer, that way we will have some of them and then i shall put them on to a disc

managed to get back a lot of photos that i had on the computer by going into different blogs and copying them again, i remembered that i had put a load on yahoo360, so i am quite pleased with the ones we rescued i'm going to back them on to a disc now.
