Hi
I have Panic and Anxiety, and I have for about 15 years. However, this time I am trying to figure out a possible, or closest diagnosis of a friend. so this friend was adopted overseas in 57. no one knew the mother, allegedly, or the father. He was adopted by a wonderful adopted dad and cinderellas stepmother. After his dad died she raised all the kids, there were four no relation to each other, all adopted. In the last yer or two he been reaaly driving his family crazy. he has NO short term memory at all. If he is told to do things by anyone, he cant remember it after a half hour and will say you never told himto do somethin ends to hide new things that come in packages, just about no matter what! He will position stuff in a position that is not meant to be that way. Like seat cushions etc. He is sorta hyper, always likes to be outit on him doing something. Nothing wrong with I guess. He is a terrible liar but boy He can lie straight to you even if he knows you seen him. His sleep pattern is terrible and cant sleep but two or three hours e always has the last word whether its right or wrong. Hasnt kept a job in over 20 years. Thinks everybody needs to wait on him no matter how long it takes. ??? Forgets everything even just going to store for one or two things! Even forgets the grocery list in the car. Help please. Give me your best guessof a diagnosis.

iwalkwithjesus, if this person has access to professional mental health person who can help him get started in developing a focused plan of therapeutic care. This would mean that he would have to be assessed for a diagnosis to be treated appropriately.
I have no credentials to render a diagnosis, but if this person is compliant and a mental professional is available, then his current challenges may be overcome. The memory, for example, could be the minimal hours of sleep he gets. But, I can't get into any more details. I hope a member who is familiar with these symptoms would be more helpful than myself.

sounds to me like some symptoms of ADHD- the forgetfulness, lack of stick-to-it-iveness, etc. Sleep issues are common with people with ADHD. We are not doctors here, so we can't really diagnose. I agree with the above poster said about finding a qualified mental health professional if you want a real diagnosis
