Is this pathological or not? I generally think of this character or imagine it being around me whenever I am bored. I know I have asked this question in another form before, but this time I really like the character. I know it isn't real, and it doesn't intrude in my mind at unwanted times. Don't get me wrong, I have been in relationships before, and my experience while on them was very good, with arguments and misadventures just like anyone else, and a touch of melancholy after the break ups. I used to think this imaginary character trait arose because I felt disconected from everyone, but even though I accepted that fact, and accepted that my friends always will consist of a small group, I still fall in love with cartoon characters. I don't feel guilty about it, nor embarrassed, but of course it isn't a topic I would bring up with just any folk.
The reason I ask this is because I am always anxious about Whether or not I have a mental illness, and I know some people who have read my posts before will roll their eyes, and chuckle while they press the back button and move on to something else, and think to themselves what a hassle I am with my anxiety, and that they would rather go and drink some Merlot, (yeah I tend to drift away from topic like that).

I haven't heard of this being pathologized before. I guess part of it may depend on what extent you love this character. You're not alone, though. I follow the anime crowd to an extent and it's really not too unusual for someone to admit they've fallen for a character. I don't think this is strange because these characters are designed to be attractive. Same goes for tv shows or movies hiring real people as actors. But, if this is something that is really bothering you a lot or especially if it is interfering with your life in some way, if you have a T it might be something to talk about.
