i recieved this as an email and thought it would be nice to post. i think its the right forum, if not, sorry.

A simple friend, when visiting, acts like a guest...A real friend opens your refrigerator and helps himself

A simple friend has never seen you cry...A real friend has shoulders soggy from your tears

A simple friend doesn't know your parents' first names...A real friend has their phone numbers in his address book

A simple friend brings a bottle of wine to your party...A real friend comes early to help you cook and stays late to help you clean

A simple friend hates it when you call after he has gone to bed...A real friend asks you why you took so long to call

A simple friend seeks to talk with you about your problems...A real friend seeks to help you with your problems

A simple friend wonders about your romantic history...A real friend could blackmail you with it

A simple friend thinks the friendship is over when you have an argument...A real friend calls you after you had a fight

A simple friend expects you to always be there for them...A real friend expects to always be there for you!

(((((((((Simon))))))))

Thank you for this post. Its brought tears to my eyes, and I think I know why -- you all, with the exception of a few people in real life, are my real friends.

A True Friend...

I had a friend like that... until he died.

He introduced me to his mother and we've been friends, too, ever since. We're email buddies, too. A True Friend... for Neil and A True Friend... for Rubye, his mom. A True Friend...

glad you liked it

Flinty - i know i have a real friend in you too, i am so glad i met you, you lift me up when im down, as do many people here at PC. one day i will get round to thanking you all, many of you may not know how much i value your friendship and support. you are all fantastic people, and i feel very honoured to know you all.

canders - im glad you feel that way, its nice to have a site such as PC in our lives, its done me the world of good already, and ive only been signed up 4 months lol. its nice to know we can all come here for support and that we have such reliable people here that i for one, certainly class as friends. i just hope i can be a friend to others here too.

alf - there are people who care about you, i care. we are here to help, we may not seem like friends to you, but you can rely on us, and we are always here for you anytime you need us, and that is what friends do.

Septembermorn - im sorry to hear that about your friend, its sad when our friends leave us like that. but im glad you still talk to his mum, thats definately a good thing. i will send my love to both Neil and Rubye.

and bethsway - im glad it touched you. it did me too when i first read it and i couldnt think of anywhere more appropriate to pass it on than to here. its a pleasure to post it here for others.

i hope you are all ok, everyone here at PC has a friend in me so if theres anything i can do for anyone, of if anyone wants a chat, you all know where i am.

love y'all
