just for anyone wondering

i called a couple of crisis help lines and they were totally unhelpful. telling me to go read a book when i said i was homicidal. and stuff like that. telling me they couldnt help me and different things.

but i found one place that kinda helped ENOUGH.
but it is a texting line. you text them for help.

Get Help Now | Crisis Text Line

text "LISTEN" to 741-741 and they talk to you 24/7 about everything. and they said theyd talk to me however long i wanted to.

great idea for me though i prefer the live voice on the phone vs the internet texting a crisis line by phone. mainly because gosh knows who is on the other end and what they do with those tests. most cell phones with texting have a memory chip where texts get stored, like the internet even when one deletes them the cell phone provider can and does keep a copy of your texts....last month I got a new cell phone. the cell phone provider was able to hack into my broken cell phone and retrieve some of my contacts, photos and texts. I was very happy about that until I sat down later that night to set up the voice mail and texting settings. I discovered some of the transferred from old to new phone texts were texts I had previously deleted. I contacted the cell phone provider. thats when I learned texting works just like sending an email. once you send it out in cyberspace to the recipient theres always a copy out there somewhere for someone to retrieve. I have since decided not to send texts messages to anyone but my family and never anything I would not want just anyone to see, basically the same standards I hold myself to with emailing, pming and posting when online. If its something that I would like to be held private/confidential I pick up the phone and talk not text.
