Hi folks,

Upon closing your browser and starting it up again, you should see the pretty new navigation bar we have at the top of the community here. If it doesn't show up right, try this:

- In Internet Explorer, hold down the CTRL key while pressing the browser's "Refresh" button
- In Firefox, hold down the SHIFT key while pressing the browser's "Refresh" button

The goal of this change is to highlight the various options available to members -- we have a lot of features in the community, and sometimes people don't realize all we offer! We're also be enhancing member profiles in the near future to allow people to give others more information about themselves (if you want).

Last, you may not realize, but a few months ago Psych Central undertook to help out another online community called Braintalk because it looked like it wasn't coming back. With over 50,000 members at the time of its demise in July, it was a valuable resource and support for lots of people. We put up our version in August, and then finally, in Oct. the old Braintalk returned and started from scratch. We kept our 'temporary' forum running and renamed it to NeuroTalk. Neurotalk is a separate community from the forums here, with slightly different rules, and a focus on neurological and brain disorders (not mental health, although there are a few overlapping topics).

You are welcomed to check it out and join if you'd like.

Best,
DocJohn

I like the new navigation bar. It makes everything more accessible.

Thanks, Doc!

Awesome and I like that we're going to be able to share more in the profile if we want.

Thank you, DocJohn!

I'm having trouble with the PM notification though The New Navigation Bar The envelope doesn't exist (except maybe when in the main index) and the pop up disappears completely. The New Navigation Bar

I'm sure I'll love it as soon as I adjust to it. ;-) I appreciate the continuing improvements here, though!

is it supposed to be all in a single column on the left, so that we need to scroll past about a page of it each time we click a link? Or is it just on my computer?

I don't think I understand what you're saying, LMo. I just have the catagories listed, click on any of them and there's a drop down menu to choose from.

Does that help?

never mind...

I had restarted my browser so I didn't think I needed to do the shift-Refresh thing. But that took care of it -- thanks KD!

I can't get to Who's Online because the Neurotalk link appears to be in the way. Is anyone else having this problem?

I know, but when I try to move my mouse over it, it disappears. I think it's because the Neurotalk link is in the way.

Ok, but if it's just my problem, don't worry. I'll see if other browsers are working the same way for me.

Thanks Stargazer!

ah, I only have this problem with Firefox, not with IE.

Back to business... ignore me... I'll figure it out!

Nice new options, DocJohn! Thanks!
