I recieved a letter today to tell me I have an appointment with the mental health team in 2 weeks time (much sooner than expected). When I spoke to my GP he made this referal to determine what if any disorder I may have. The letter says the appointment will last about an hour, I was hoping someone could give me an idea of what to expect as I'm not really sure how it works. Any input would be greatly appreciated :-).

when i first went it was just a questionnaire , lasted prob 45 mins or so... i dont know much about how they work, but from my experience i think they are just a starting block to kind of screen you for variety of things and not really pinpoint the persisting problem? hope it goes well, just dont be nervous like i was!! its not bad and they should be nice, i feel like i messed mine up because i got so nervous

I started writing a long rambling post but remembered this The Masked AMHP: What Happens in a CMHT Mental Health Assessment?
Hopefully this answers any questions, and calm some of the nerves you might have
