Lately my memory is awful. Not only do I forget where I place things, plans that I've made, words that just came out of my mouth, but now I can't find words. A lot of the time I can't finish a sentence and it make sense - as if my mouth moves faster than my brain. Or I just can't find the word I'm looking for at all - simple words? Its incredibly frustrating! Does anyone else experience this or know why this would be happening?

Medication can cause it. What are you taking and did it change recently? Depression can cause memory loss too.

Seroquel, campral' and lamictal and yes it all changed recently. Just 10 days ago I was on latuda, depakote and xanax...
it was a huge change, and I'm experiencing a ton of other side effects ![]() |

Yeah, stopping three and starting three is bad for figuring out what is causing this. It could be one or more of them. I know Lamictal could cause it for certain. I don't know about the other two but you could check webmd. Just to complicate things the drugs you dropped could also be causing withdrawal symptoms depending on how long you took them. Did the doctor have you taper? And what the heck kind of doctor is this anyway?

This is my pdoc. The depakote I toook myself off of, the xanax I'm not supposed to take anymore bc it doesn't mix well with the new medication, and the latuda was way too expensive (350.00 for 30 days). So, that was the cause for the adjustment in meds. I struggle accepting my diagnosis and commiting to.I've been doing well by taking the new meds, but side effects make me so uncomfortable - this one (if ondeed it is a side effect) especially. Thank you so much for your response. I go back to see her on the 6th. Ill discuss it with her further at that time

Ok, I see. Cost definitely needs to be factored into the treatment. I do the same thing. If you have been taking them for a while you might want to taper longer. If latuda a is branded (no generic) maybe you could get samples or a coupon just until you are off it. If you haven't been taking the Xanax for more than a couple weeks it should be ok. The depakote needs to be tapered for sure. So in my uneducated opinion your memory problems are probably due to Lamictal. Maybe it is too high a dose to start with. Take it with a grain of salt.
I hope it gets better. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

I take the similar Xanax medicine and it does affect my memory, but I find that at times of stress I can remember, may be is the additional pressure to remember which helps. But I don't like the fact I need to think stronger to remember. Hope it helps.
