Keeping track of, or making sense of the passage of time is so difficult for me. I was just wodering if anyone else experiences this. I have to ask several times a day what day and date it is. Sometimes the year as well.
Calanders don't work for me because I'm often confused by what month it is. Time either seems to whiz by or it crawls. And if it is dusky out, I am often confused if it is early morning or early evening.

I was just wondering if this happens to anyone else and if it is a side effect of BP or just my own cra-cra mind.

my memory is crap (ever since I did a number of suicide attempts). The doctors tell me that I have no "damage", it is simply depression. Whatever........

Yes - I lose track of day, I lose track of month and year too. And sometimes this is very triggering to me. VERY triggering.

Time jumps ahead, stops and starts for me. I feel like I am not in the same time stream as everyone else. At least not consistently - maybe I am phasing in and out of time.

Time isn't real anyway. It was created to make it possible for our brains to function in this form and this world as it is.

Per CBS's 60 Minutes last nite, you could be having mini strokes. Its usually associated with older age, but younger people can have them too. Somebody else here this weekend said they should have been chdcked ten years ago for thyroid problems, thats why i bring it up. Plus my former neighbor was always asking what day it was, drove my mom crazy! But she didnt like him and was never very patient to begin with.

Im not working so i have to have a watch with the date. And my phone tells me the day. Otherwise who cares.

Time seems to be flying by. I cannot comprehend how I can remember certain things that happened when I was, say, in high school...or when my kids were little...as though those things were just last week, and here I am 51 years of age. I don;t think my perception of time flying is unusual, unfortunately. And it is true - time is man-made. I'm not sure any of us can entirely comprehend time.

Sometimes it feels as though all time must occur at the same time, and we are just experiencing it linearly because of our limited existence

I'm not working either so I got a 2014-15 daybook-type calendar and write what I eat each day (and approximate time) which means I see the month/day/date at least 2-3 times a day and just have to turn to my bookmark if I get "lost".

Well, quantum physics suggests all sorts of alternatives to linear time.

What a great idea, Perna! I used to be so organized but right now my room looks like an episode of Hoarders.

Okay, I exagerate, but I hope it is just a passing phase.

As for mini strokes!!! I've had this problem with time ever since I can remember. I think the early on DID might have something to do with it.

And as for quantum physics, I so agree. To ancient man, it was either day or night and they built their cultures around that. But there were many things that Newton knew we will never be able to comprehend. Perhaps this is one of them.

Living alone & have to pay my own bills & make sure that I go to all my appointments on the right day....& when I plan get together's with friends I want to make sure that I show up......so I have gone with the day planner for 7 years now.....& I have an app on my phone now that keeps track of all my finances so I don't have late bills either as I don't like auto pay very much except for a few I feel safe with & are constantly the same amounts each month. I also write down in my day planner the things I've done for the day so I can go back & remember what happened.

Why....because from January 1994 to January 2003.....it's a huge black hole in my life....I get glimpses of things that happened now & again....but it's a horrible feeling to have it be so totally black.....& after I left my H & left most of my stuff & moved 2100 miles away...I have no idea what notes I have that existed that I left there......think sometimes the clean break was the best thing leaving it ALL behind since 2007....even though there are some really dark times...at least I was the one that kept track of me & I had to do what it took to take care of me & be responsible....which is something my H hasn't been able to do..

With all of that, I still have problems with dates & keeping track of how many days it's been since the prescription was filled & can be filled again & blah blah blah......& then oh my....I have to play organ at chuch this Sunday & haven't practiced or picked out hymns......I do get lost in other things but manage to recover before its fatal.

I think everything should run on pikku time But really, I keep a loud clock and I can judge what my mental state is by it... sounds funny but it works. Kind of technical here as a person in general. Findings If I am a bit more on the manic side... I am thinking much faster than the clock. Appears, clock and time can not keep up with me. Depressed - just the opposite... can not keep up with a minute So yes... to answer your question.
