after reading lots of online articles, I'm pretty sure that I have avoidant personality disorder. The symptoms fit. At the moment I'm unable to seek for professional help because a) financial reasons and b) too scared. Anyhow I'm used to it, so not much of a problem

My real issue right now is that I really hate when people intrude my room and my personal belonging. My brother had to move back into the house and thus, we had shared the room. At the beginning, I simply felt annoyed whenever he enters my room, but recently I started to have this unexplainable rage. I feel like hitting him with a stick. Especially when he messes my stuffs, I really wanna rip his head off.

I wonder if this problem related to my personality disorder... if yes, does that means my avoidant personality disorder is getting worse?

Can someone please help?

By the way, is there a name for my problem?

Ps. Sorry for my grammar, I'm not a native speaker

It's possible it's related to the disorder you mentioned; it's hard to say for sure, and I'm certainly not in a position to diagnose. What I do know, however, is that it's pretty difficult for most people to have anyone in their immediate space, getting into their stuff. So I would maybe just try not to be so hard on yourself about it. It sounds like you are going through a lot already.
In the meantime, it might be a good idea to check out the AVP forum, as atomicc mentioned. Welcome to PC.

Hello there Keilwkth. I'd like to offer you a very big warm
WELCOME
to Psych central and all it has to offer, which you'll find is a great deal. Also once you find your way round, there'll be friends to be made with the same concerns as yourself. I find knowing that there's others out there suffering the same symptoms is quite a relief. I have a diagnosed personality disorder and I've found that many of the different types of personality disorders overlap each other, I mean that symptoms are the same despite the diagnosis. Mine is Borderline but I have symptoms that you will have to. I look forward to seeing you around PC soon. HUGS.

Dear Keilwkth, so sorry but I forgot to say that I think it's only natural for you not to want anybody invading your space! I feel very strongly about this too. That may not be anything to do with a disorder in yourself, I think it's perfectly natural. It might be a really good idea if you had a word with your Dr if things in your life are very uncomfortable etc. Do you have, or have you ever had a therapist? Just wondered.
