Hollywood goes deeper into the sewer with sick films

12-year-old shown in disturbing rape scene, man and animal featured in other film.
Pepsi, Blockbuster, Delta Airlines, and L'Oréal sponsor film festival

Dear Carolyn,

Hollywood recently sunk to a new low. In the name of art, two sick movies—among others—were presented at the 207 Sundance Film Festival in Utah.

One film, Hounddog, features a very distrubing scene showing the character of 12-year-old Dakota Fanning being raped. The other film, Zoo, is about a man having unnatural relations with a horse. (That is as graphic as I am willing to get in this letter.)

These movies represent the sickness which masquerades as, Art, in Hollywood.

Here is what Roger Friedman of Fox News says about the rape scene of the 12-year-old in Hounddog.

Since I am one of the few who've actually seen it, let me explain something important. There is no point that I can find to the child's rape. Once it happens, it's never discussed. The culprit is never accused or apprehended. The child never tells her story to anyone. There's no great moment of revelation that could possibly help someone who's watching the film. It's simply there for shock value.

For more information on the movie, click here: http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/ar...TICLE_ID=53912

Why would a parent ever allow their 12-year-old child to star in a movie which depicted her being raped? More disconcerting, Joy Pervis, the agent who discovered Dakota Fanning, described her family as a good Christian family.

The producers have even conned rape-assistance groups into using the movie in a public-service announcement!

I consider this nothing less than child abuse!

The other film, Zoo, which features the man and horse, is described by Kenneth Turan of the Los Angeles Times as a strange and strangely beautiful film. Such is the mentality of Hollywood. Robinson Devor, director of the film, said he was asked many times, often with a wrinkled brow, 'Why are you making this film?' It was something I did resent; I thought artists had the opportunity to explore anything. The people responsible for these films are sick!

Four companies — Pepsi, Blockbuster, Delta Airlines, and L'Oréal — made large contributions to sponsor the Sundance Film Festival, making it possible for the directors to promote these movies.

Take Action
Send your e-mail to Pepsi, Blockbuster, Delta and L'Oréal asking why they would choose to sponsor an event promoting such deviant, sick behavior. Tell them you expect them to immediately withdraw their support from the film festival.

Example (of) LETTER sent.... You create the TITLE

Dear Sir:

I am surprised that your company would endorse and financially support the Sundance Film Feature. Did you know that one of the films features the rape of a 12-year-old child's character and another features sex between a man and a horse! Have you no sense of corporate responsibility?

Now that you know, are you going to withdraw your support? Your decision will certainly influence my purchases in the future. I find no reason to support any company which supports such sick trash.

Hollywood's been "Going to far" for decades! It's what sells. Good luck changing anything.

this is a link from the same page has the one you posted rhapsody,

http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/ar...TICLE_ID=53961

the editors of the paper should have had all the facts in one link, but i guess that wouldnt make for such a good headline, or cause has much "moral" outrage.

your own judicial system has said after an investigation that the film makers have committed no crime, so i guess you are exercising your religious veiws here instead

has for the beastiality, did you feel moral outrage when watching the film caligular (sp) (roman leader) he is famed for sleeping with his horse, i dont see you complaining about that, and that is a mainstream classic film.

this is not attacking you rhapsody, but keep your religious moral veiws in the religion forum where they belong

ps the sundance festival is not connected to hollywood film studios either, it is a independant film festival, with independant film makers, hence the sponsors

FYI - this was not about a RELIGIOUS MATTER concerning my part in it (no matter if the article did from a Christian group) therefore I placed my post in the GENERAL Forum section.

IMO - One can have an opinion on something that has to do with break down in morality with out it having to do with Religion.... there are many people in this world that do not attend church or believe in God and yet they are very sickened by these types of movies.

Just my two cents...... my thoughts on the matter, and btw I NEVER have liked these types of movies/flims even when I was not saved - I felt the same way when I was just a mere human being trying to live a peaceful live with out smut and sick sexual fantasies coming to life (on the big screen) for it is hurting people / children.

LoVe,
Rhapsody -

P.S.
I was not complaining.............. I was just sharing with others that might want to help in the fight against smut.

I, for one, appreciated your info. about this issue. I'm not a religious person, but I still think these movie scenes are morally offensive & detrimental to society. They do put dangerous & unnatural images in your brain . Sometimes these can be a trigger for an on-the-edge person who may decide to carry out those acts. Or it would be very disturbing to anyone who is sensitive to sexual abuse (as I am).

Thanks again, Rhapsody.--Suzy

Hmmm does this mean that you agree you cannot have a moral viewpoint without religion?

Also, I missed DocJohn's statement about all religious references having to be posted in the Spirituality Forum, where would that be?

(((mellors)))

TC ok?

You still a mere human being? or have you accended yet? if you dont like the films or the genre of films you should stay away from them, this is fringe theatre film making, and very unlikey to ever make it into mainstream production, stick with the cronicles of narnia and give us all a break.

i didnt say that sky, but it is pretty obvious from the post from rhap where she got her information from in the first place in regards to this, also who are the "experts" named has saying this was a morally bad film? i bet they all start with the monica miinister or father or are part of religious groups, that info has not been forthright in comming, but then again it is a cristian newspaper like rhap said

the religion forum was made for threads like this, containing religious overtones so has not to offend others

there are morals and then there is religion, to use them both together is the choice she made so my post was correct and bang on the nail when i posted it, yes you can have one without the other , she just chose not to seperate them making it into a morally religious veiw.

I disagree. I never read the spiritual/religious forum, because I am neither, but I found this info. in the general section helpful & not at all offensive. I have many friends who are religious & I certainly don't try to bash them for it. As for the Chronicles of Narnia, I never saw the movie, but they were great books, even if I didn't share their Christian viewpoint. C.S. Lewis is another great Christian writer. You can learn a lot without being offended because they happen to be Christian. I also read literature by Jewish, Buddhist & other religious people--so what--if they have something important or powerful to say. Plus there is just some beautiful writing in these books & it helps me understand other people's perspectives.--Suzy

I'd like to know what ANY of this has to do with MENTAL HEALTH???

To me, it was obvious at first read that this was going to turn into a free for all. It's a controversial subject in any circle! Why bring it to this website that is still recovering from the LAST controversial subject?? Hollywood - Gone to FAR!!!

I agree, Sept. This is a mental health support site, not a forum for activism.

Everything in its time and place. Thanks for understanding
