(sorry if this doesn't belong here, please move it to the correct forum if possible)

...and from the responses I gave, she seemed really surprised and horrified. (e.g. that after uni I just go straight back home, I have no friends, no Facebook account etc.) It's as if I'm an alien from another planet... or she just doesn't respect how I see the world around me.

Have you had this sort of situation before?

Yes. I have gotten this before. I have a tendency for being alone/loneliness so I never bothered to go out. Straight to my destination aka school and then back home. Been that way my entire life.

it sounds like she was just a very insecure person and you're way of life being different from hers made her uncomfortable. i wouldn't take it personally
