Hi All,

Like everybody else on here, I have a lot to do and keep track of.

I just discovered today that a company I purchased a CD from back in August of last year for $49.95, has been continuing to charge my checking account for that amount on a monthly basis since then.

When I called the company today, the service rep said she could not stop this, but she said I wasn't the only person in this boat. She gave me another number to call on Monday.

My bank isn't open until Monday, at which time I will complete some paperwork, which should put an end to this nonsense!!!!!!!!!

At this point I am hopeful, I will be able to get my money back.

This is the first time, I have ever had anything like this happen to me.

Sorry this is happening to you. I had something similar happen with an online service I had that would not stop the automatic wihtdrawal from my checking account and who, in fact, set up a "new" online service account after I cancelled. It tookd several letters to this company that also is a discount store before I could get my account credited. I tried to cancel the automatic payment at the bank but they couldn't do that. It was a frustrating experience and I think of it every time I order online now. Lesson learned.

I hope you get it all sorted out soon!

Echo,

The bank says they can handle it, but I'm skeptical.

I just posted another thank you to you for your apple cake recipe!!! My that looks yummy!

Thanks for sharing your experience.

Rest a Sure.... that your BANK will indeed be able to handle it, for they will place a "Stop Payment" and the transaction (prob for a one-time fee) and then this company will not be able to withdrawal money from your account - no matter how many times they try.

Make sure you file a police report, as they can't do much without one. This is the new form of bank robbery, and that is what this is.

(((((((((( EJ ))))))))))))))

I'm so sorry this has happened to you. You have received the best of advice, so I have no more to offer, but I thought you might need a hug.

Hugs,

Jan

I'm so sorry, EJ.

Sky's right and I've been hearing about this more and more. I'm not good about keeping a close eye on checking account. I mean, I check to see if things I've written are in yet, etc., but I don't look for out of the ordinary charges, repeat charges, etc.

I'm sorry this happened and hope it's resolved very quickly.

Jan,

Thanks for the hug!

KD,

I've never had to keep a close eye on my checking account either -- it has always run just fine -- until now.

Fayerody,

Now that is a nightmare! I'm sorry!

Thanks everyone!
