I have very rapid changing mood swings. Today I feel like I can do anything but in the back of my head I don't want to and a voice is telling me I should kill myself..

More frequently I have a severe depressive mood

Hello, iditp20. Does everyone who are treating you know about this?

I wish you well.

Well, it's a really good decision to see a psychiatrist. It sounds like you might benefit from medication. I hope the appointment goes well for you.

I am on antidepressants, they do nothing for me. I have been on 6 different ones in the past 2 years, none have been effective

Sometimes we need more than just an antidepressant.

Take care of yourself.

If you're experiencing hypomanic symptoms the antidepressant could be making your symptoms worse. You can read on this forum and online about AD's inducing mania. Perhaps you need some kind of mood stabilizer.

Do the therapists give you a diagnosis or do they keep that to themselves and just write prescriptions? Do you know anyone who can give you a referral to a good Psychiatrist? Hang in there until you find a Doctor that is willing to listen. And read about some of the mood disorders and make a list of what you can identify with. The more information a Psychiatrist has the better they will be able to get you on the correct meds. It's a difficult road and it takes persistence. Do you have any emotional support like family? That's what has kept me going. Good luck.

I'm not sure. I'm really nervous about it and I don't know what's happening at the appointment. I've been told that it is going to be for 2 hours and I can take somebody with me. I have wrote a big list of symptoms and a booklet of questions I have to answer before the appointment. I am assuming they are going to tell me what's wrong as they haven't before they kinda just wash there hands of me. The not knowing only makes things work.

I saw a doctor yesterday and she has started to ween me off my anti depressents as I told her that I think they are making me worse.

I seem to be stuck on this high since they increased the anti depressants. I feel spaced out and more than half the time I am unsure of what's going on around me. The doctor is going to be signing me off work for even longer in two weeks.

I only have my partners mother for support and she's good to me.

Sounds to me like they are going to take a fresh look to figure out whats going on. This is a positive thing, just be honest and open. Its ok to tell them up front that you are nervous.

It's also ok to ask if this will lead to a diagnoses and/or the right treatment. Weaning you off of a medicine that hasn't helped is a good thing as they will see you as a fresh slate,ie tabula rosa--a blank slate to start over and get the right treatment. Best of luck.
