Lately I've been anxious over the top, and depressed. So I checked into the hospital. I spent a week there and lost 13 lb because I couldn't eat very much - my anxiety level was high and my stomach couldn't take much food.

The doctor there took away Abilify, too. I'm not schizoaffective like I thought for 15 years. I'm just bipolar. He doubled my Zoloft and put me on Propranolol, a multi-useful drug lowering blood pressure and reducing social anxieties.

It's been day #5 from being off Abilify and 2 days out of the hospital, and I'm feeling a lot better.

Sorry you had to go inpatient tho I hope the diagnosis change is helpful .

Watch the zoloft , It can toss Bipolars into a mania. Not sure if your BP I or BP II .

Take care

I'm glad you took the step to go to the hospital. It sounds like your anxiety was really high.

I found myself in a similar situation before I was diagnosed. My anxiety was so high I couldn't eat. I lost 30# in 3 weeks.

After I was diagnosed and things leveled out for me I researched what had happened. What I learned is when you have that level of anxiety your body is producing a lot of adrenalin, going into fight or flight mode. While there, it shuts down systems that aren't completely necessary, one of them being hunger. With the high level of adrenalin and your body using any body fat and muscle for energy you lose weight.

Glad you're feeling better.
