I have been reading a lot about people taking benedryl for panic. I never heard of this. I thought it was an antihistimine. I'm currently on paxil for depression and anxiety and would be interested in trying this. Can anyone give me a quick lesson on benedryl 101. thanks

benadryl is an antihistamine, but it is used for other purposes as well. frequently, benedryl (and other antihistamines) are used as sleep aides. in addition, some doctors prescribe benadryl for anxiety or panic attacks. you might want to check out this site:

http://www.medhelp.org/forums/mental...es/30991a.html

there is information there specifically about benadryl and anxiety/panic attacks.
