Do any of you know of a place that I could buy some? I have looked online and I found one place in the UK.. but I dont want to have to get it from there. I'd like to find it in the US. The places I've seen online seem to be for professionals. I want a selection of colors and sizes if possible. There's a black, brown , light tones too that I am interested in. If you know of anyplace please let me know!!! Thanks!! I'm getting the itch to sculpt!!

Well I had posted this same request on another forum and there was someone that found a site that looked good . I checked it out and it sounds reasonable. The only thing I dont like is that each piece is 5 pounds and under. But I guess its better than nuttin!! LOL!!!

But one thing... I wont be able to order right away.. I broke my glasses today. So that money is going towards that now. Thank goodness I have contacts.. At least it helps with driving even though they arent a current script. * shrugs *

Beth,

I have no clue, but wanted to say that you're so creative and artistic. As someone who's not, I appreciate that talent in others.

good luck on your search.

Love,

KD

Tomi to be honest.. I dont know what they will be till I see the piece. I have to go from the heart on them. I know its hard to explain.. but this is what my friend said to do .. and thats what I did with the piece I made. Its a simple piece but it has meaning to me. And to me that is huge. Sometimes the shape of the stone will tell you.. sometimes the color ... it just all works together ya know? I hope I'm not sounding weird here. And I hope I'm not making any typo's lol.. i cant see what I am writing!!! LOL!!!!!! I do love doing this though.. it really makes me reach down deep inside. Soapstone for Sculpting

Wow KD.. thanks!! I appreciate you saying that... some days its hard to do what I want . When I saw my new T today.. I had a list of goals written down and one of them was to spend at least 2-3 days a week on my hobbies. Pretty much one day for each hobby. That is Scrapbooking, quiltiing and sculpting. And now that I have my new computer upstairs.. I have no excuse not to get up there because I wont feel like I am missing out on stuff here and other forums I am on lol. I am even thinking of putting a webcam up that way my friends can see me working on stuff if they want lol I'll have to see about that .. It might make me too nervous lol.

You are talented.... just in other things!! Embrace that!! I am no professional at thsi stuff by a looooooooooong shot!! But I do try to have fun doing it and that is what I enjoy. If I start getting too aggrivated with it.. thets when I know I need to take a break from it and refocus. Soapstone for Sculpting

Ok.. so here is the piece i made.. Its got several meanings to me.. I know it doesnt look like much but take into consideration that it was my first and only piece I've ever done. Most of the meanings have 3 people in them. I wont bore you with it though lol..

And this second piece is one my friend made for me. She said I have a firey spirit and the sculpture is in a shape of a flame. Ok.. so whatever lol.
