I had dinner with some coworkers tonight. They don't know me at all. No one does. My friends think they know me--they have no clue. This makes me wonder if you can ever know anyone. I'm so different versus how people think I am, they'd be shocked. Would I be shocked if I learned more about my coworkers and friends' lives?
What do you (anyone reading this) think--do you really know your friends? Do they know you? <font color=blue> "History shows again and again how nature puts up the folly of men." </font color=blue>

There are only a couple people that I can say that I really know , no not everyone knows me, I think one or 2 might but not completely.
It wouldn't hurt to know something about a co-worker, about their family or kids, no harm in that.. I think there is always going to be something that someone doesn't know about and vice versa.. wait did that make sense, I don't know how to word it. <font color=red>~Sundance~</font color=red> <font color=blue>"Never react emotionally to criticism. I do usually have a decent read on most ppl. But really know? Nah, that's why you always see on the news when they interview the neighbors... but he/she was always a quiet, willing to help neighbor...

I don't know, I guess one thought comes to mind: you know part of someone if you have been involved with them in a way that has changed them, and if you are aware of what the change is.
Can we ever know anyone completely -- of course not. Wouldn't make any sense. I have noticed that when I am interested in someone or care about them, it's not really because they seem familiar or easy to understand. There is value in mystery. |

No one knows me fully and I don't know anyone fully. People have so many facets on their personality that even if you spent a lifetime with someone you still wouldn't know him/her fully. I like to think knowing someone is a process that takes forever. You find out more everyday, yet everyday you forget something.
Are you really that different from who your friends think you are? I am sure you think so, I used to think the same, but I realized that my friends know the person I show them to be. Therefor it is a part of me. This does not mean they know me, they don't, but they know a part of me, a part that I don't know, but is as much a part of me as who I think I am. As for knowing my friends. I know them well enough to know that I don't know them. By the way, I am new around here, Hi everyone! Life is a dream given form by thought
