I did a search on one or two of my pictures and nothing came up but I was just wondering how private one's album is in Photobucket? Is it possible to view anyone's album or pictures?

I use photobucket all the time--I think the personal "album" is suppose to be private...but, I don't trust that--I only load photos that I would not mind sharing with the world.

Hey Sabrina,
As far as I'm aware, there are two settings on Photobucket. One is private, meaning a URL to your album given to someone without your password wouldn't allow them to get in to see your pictures. They also don't show up on random image searches. The other setting is public. Pictures can potentially show up on image searches, and anyone with the URL to your album can see the pictures. (My album is public because I'm not worried about anyone stealing my icons. lol)

Thanks everyone.
I will certainly check out the privacy link. I just felt a prickle when I accessed photobucket for the first time in months today and saw one of my personal pictures on the "general images" page before I had even logged in. Gave me quite a fright.

I use Photobucket and you can get codes to other peoples pics as well....... I think I have even used a small icon or two and you can always save as to your computer on any picture you view.

Oh no ... not what I wanted to hear! I am wondering how my pictures got into a general area to begin with? Is this standard practice? (Sorry Perna - I haven't read the privacy link yet ..)

YES....... what you post is seen by ALL that come to PhotoBucket..... trying doing a search for some thing and you will see the PICS for that subject.
Example: Dogs, Babies, Party, Panties, Girls, Hot Men.... you name it - it is there. I have even reported a few that were soft porn type and should not be up there. |

Oh dear ... guess some pictures will have to come off with immediate effect then ... How naive of me to believe it was completely private!

You are WELCOME...... I personally only use PhotoBucket to upload pics of animals, icons or other things of interest that I wish to share on here by using their online codes needed for picture upload.
