I miss my childhood doll so much. I can't even think about her without feeling really sad. I've talked about it in therapy a few times but I don't think I'll ever get over it. She was a cabbage patch doll and as such was one of a kind. She came with her own name and birth cert, so she is literally irreplacable.

I've tried finding her or similar looking dolls online but to no avail. It makes me really sad and I would give anything to have her again. I hope this doesn't sound silly. I guess I wondered if anyone else has ever experienced this?

I have experienced this in the past, not with a doll but with something of significant personal value to me. I hope you can find a solution...

I had a stuffed wolf that my mom gave me. It's name was 'Wolfie'. After my mom passed, the people that took care of me disposed of it. They were really evil people.

I don't think you're being silly. I'm 50 and still have dolls from my childhood, including two from when I was a baby. I really hoped to have a little girl to pass them on to, but never had kids. I'm still attached to those dolls. I think that, for alot of people, dolls represent idyllic times.

Hope you can find a doll that suits your needs.

Awww...I certainly do feel for you with how you're missing such a comforting and special part of your childhood. Thank you for sharing your experience. And it's comforting to know that others can relate, so you're not alone in what you're feeling.

Makes sense to me.
Thankfully I still have a few plush friends from childhood, but somewhere I lost a beloved stuffed hippo. To this day I feel the loss.

Doesnt sound silly at all. I have quite a few of my childhood dolls, and I also used ebay to find a few of my favorite old toys. I am in my forties.

When my little twin grandsons were born, I got them Ty "pluffies," and I remember the first time my daughter placed them in the cribs with them. They immediately began hugging and squeezing them. They became so very attached to them over the years, until they were rags, real rags of their former selves. This was over a period of at least 11 years. I know how you feel from having seen how attached the boys were to their "puppy dog" and "baby bear." You are not silly at all.

Eleny, I feel so bad for you. I also don't think you're "silly" AT ALL. I wish you still had that doll. Is there any chance you can create a doll for yourself?

By the way, I visited Ireland 2 years ago and have never been to a place I love so much.

No, not silly at all!

I have a permanent eBay search for my favorite bear. Ok, well, I still have the old bear, which was meant as an upgrade to my old stuffed dog.... I am attached to them because they feel a certain way. I have searched SO many different shops to find just the right one, to no avail.

Maybe you won't be able to find the exact same doll, but could you find one that comes close?
