We see them as WE are.

... The Talmud

I went to an amazing seminar tonight by someone in advertising (as part of work) ... and I had forgotten this quote, which he used to illustrate something in his presentation.

I think it is very pertinent to being mentally healthy ... or unhealthy ...

It made me think a little We do not see things as they are

I notice I do that a lot. When I feel a certain way about myself, I'll project it on to others and see it as, that is how they see me.
Is that what you mean?

I think that is one of the meanings definitely, yea Pickle.

The other meaning that resonates with me is that if I am sad and grumpy then everything even though it may be good it seems crappy too ...

sort of like cognitive distortion i guess lol.

Yeah, I can see that. Definitely what I do when I'm having a crappy day, also. But isn't it great when you're given a sweet reality check? Like when you're in that crappy mood then someone gives you a really warm smile and a hello or does some random act of kindness and it makes you dump the crappy attitude outlook on life into the trash can?
I love it when that happens!
