I find myself zoning out several hours of the day and either watching sci-fi or fantasy based shows, reading books, or playing games and having an overwhelming desire to live in them rather than this boring world that we call reality. I would do anything to escape and be something special and powerful rather than a boring human without any meaningful abilities in a sea of billions.

Does anybody else feel this way? If so, what fantasy or Sci-fi is your poison? What kind of character would you be?

Yes... For a few years now I have a imaginary town in my mind I go into. The place has a population of characters. They are my friends. There I am Loved and needed and don't feel worthless.... One knows he is a mess when he starts crying just writing that.

Yes, I feel the same way. I wish I could go to middle earth or azeroth and be a hero or maybe a magical hermit living deep in a mountain range.

Anyone who says they never wish they were in a fantasy world is probably already living in one

When I was a kid my mom took us to see a play called Our Town (there's a book or movie with that name came out a while back... different story all together, I think). I was 5. It's been my favorite fantasy life since. The "world" is quite small; it's a graveyard. All the buried folk are alive. Not like zombies; they're ghosts. Their whole world is the cemetery. No one's trying to get out. It's a neighborhood. They go in and out of their graves... have arguments, wander around...only at night though. I was only 5 so I don't remember it much .

Honestly I daydream that I live a Key Visual Art's Studio life. The anime I've seen from them so far is so calm and peaceful even though it's sad at times. I just want a normal, peaceful life.
I also have an alternate persona in those daydreams, but that's another story.
