I am always telling my therapist about things I read here and ask her questions. So I was wondering is it ok if I invite here to be here too?

Why not? I mean, any professional that comes here and wishes to be active probably ought to PM DocJohn and chat first... but reading...anyone can come and read (and do!) My T is well aware of this site. He and I were both here without the other knowing it...me in the forums as a member, and he kept getting google hits of information in his research with PC links! If your T thinks she can be more supportive of you by being here, then IMNSHO, bring her in!

She may be a therapist, but chances are she is a also a client somewhere! How could anyone be in that business and not need someone to talk to!

Your T can always read what you post without joining if that is your intent.

uh... i would say sure they are. i mean there are people posting here who are training to be therapists and i'm pretty sure their membership won't be revoked once they graduate :-)

I invited my old t here. He came and read alot and credited alot of my healing to my being here. Being here helped me find words to my experiences that I couldn't explain, gave me support, gave me direction that I wanted to take in my healing from reading others' experiences, etc.



He never posted, but read here many times...even signed up.

I never ask my T if he has been here or not, reading posts. I can't imagine why he would do that... he has so much other stuff to do I don't discuss PC much, unless there's a frictional problem, or someone makes a pithy post that's apropro to my thinking at the time.

I don't want him to be here reading, I think. (research stuff is fine with me though) and I'm with you GG, I don't want to know either!

I look back, though, and it did interfere with my posting a few times...especially when I needed to ask a questions about HIM! LOL

Ah..I've been very very mindful of never using the name of the site or the site's owner when I've mentioned being a deputy to my T. And then of course we had to discuss exactly WHY I was being so mindful of this. Bah. Can't the answer sometimes be, "Just because!"?

lol, then I'd have to 'splain the "grab ya". He's very analytical.

i made my therapist PROMISE about 5 times that he would never read message boards trying to find me online.

he was more than happy to promise. as he said, he doesn't have a lot of time to be doing that anyway.

i told one of my old therapists about another site when he left. i said it could be something for him to do in his retirement lol. for all i know... he's trolling the boards tryin to help people lol.

Yes here therapists are required to have therapists themselves.

She called me after reading this thread and told me that she was already here and has been here for quite some time.

geez did all these replys sure surprise me. I take it having ones therapist on line with them is one of those things that get many different responses from people.

I have to admit - I wouldn't want my T necessarily seeing my posts...I tend to be more free with my thoughts when it's not face to face.

I guess it wouldn't matter as long as I didn't know - otherwise my posts would probably be slanted...

LOL you may be kidding but I wasnt when I tried to get her to tell me but she wouldnt say. She asked me if now I was going to sit here and wonder if this one is her or that one and I told her H@@@ no. And she laughed becuase she knows wether or not I know who she is here I would be posting the same and treating her the same and stuff. It doesn't bother me that she is here. Im glad that she is.
