Hi,

I'm male age 40 from the UK.

I'm Just wondering if anyone knows what's going on here.
First of I've had blood tests done, and I've been told I'am low on vitamin d, so I'm talking vitamin D3.

About 4 months ago, I was on the computer, then all of sudden, my mind just went blank, slow, it was like it didn't want to work. Lasted for few hours, very scary.
So on and off this would happen. I would also get strange tingling feeling in my head.
I start forgetting what I'm doing.
Cut long story short, now everyday I feel like I'm not with it, like monged out, in a dream, forgetting what I'm doing, can't remember doing things, when driving, I have to dig deep to focus on what I'm doing. Feels like I'm going mad. When I'm nodding of to sleep, I hear like different voice in my head, then a wake up, and I don't hear anything.. Feel so disconnected from anything I do. Even talking to people is so hard, as it's hard to focus. I'm minds cordination is so not flowing like it used it. My thoughts as just so odd. I feel paranoid, get so scared for anything. Even when reading something, my minds saying something different to what's really there. It's the most scary thing I have ever had. My feels like something isn't right. I feel like I'm not sure what I can do.. also out the blue I get a feeling like I want to break down crying for now reason, but nothing comes out.
Could vitamin D supplements make u feel worse ?
Any idea.

Thanks al lot. 😌

I don't think the vitamin D has anything to do with it, read this >>>>> Vitamins and minerals - Vitamin D - NHS Choices

It does sound like there is a mental health issue going here, depression and anxiety can cause the feelings that you express here but we can't diagnose on this site. You could try these online tests to get more of an idea of what is going on with you and then share it with your doctor >>>> The Sanity Score - Test Your Mental Wellness and Psychological Tests and Quizzes

Hi, You should definitely see your doctor and get a diagnosis. I can understand why it's scary.

Definitely get that checked out ASAP / I would be more concerned about transient ischemic attacks/stroke/aneurism than a mental health issue if I were experiencing those symptoms.

If you're still having the same symptoms, I would probably stop taking any vitamin supplements and over-the-counter medications for 3-4 weeks to see if you notice any difference.

Vitamin D supplements could cause hypercalcemia in theory, but that's only supposed to happen if your blood levels of vitamin D get way too high. There are psychiatric/mental/brain symptoms that show up with that, though. Also, from the bit I've read, it seems like lots of physical symptoms usually show up along with the psychological ones.

As far as the doctors you saw not having a clue, it sounds like one of those situations where you have to keep going back and saying the same thing over and over until they send you to a specialist.

Yes I understand what you went through. My mind goes blank at times, my brain feels hot in spots. I suffer tension headaches, stress. My mind gets on overload and it just wants to space out. It might be neurological. Definetly have that checked out. Stress will affect you in many ways. Drink a lot of water and take a nap when this happens. Water helps hydrate the brain that is being affected. And do not wait to go to your doctor for more follow up. Blessings...

I don't think it's possible for vitamin D to do that. If it keeps happening, keep harassing the doctor. Don't let them blow you off.

It's a fad now, for MDs to put patients onto vitamin D supplements (D3 being the easiest and such)... mainly because most people aren't out in the sun as much as the generations before.

I personally have issues with D3 and take it a day or two and then skip... I cannot take it like my MD insists... my system does not need it in that dosage, if it needs it at all (I am out 5-6 times a day with my dog in the backyard.

Do a test. Go off the D3, keep notes on your reactions. I would go a week off the D3. Then go back on it and make notes.

It might not be the D3 itself, but what oils they are packing it in/with etc. Try something from a health shoppe and pick the one with the least ingredients?

Yes, it can cause dizziness, btw, imo.

It feels like I have no real emotion anymore, that I don't really absorb what's going on around me, that I can't think; it feels like I'm just... there. Like all my interactions with the world and the people on it have just stopped. I hate it!

I do have moments during the day where I'm not like this, but it usually only last for a couple minutes and then fades out again.

That sounds like depression, but it's weird that it started so suddenly. Talk to your doctor again, or find another doctor.
